A stunning blue diamond sold today at the price of 41 million euros at an auction of the house Christie’s in Geneva, Switzerland. The ‘Bleu Royal’ is the largest flawless blue diamond ever auctioned. Although appraisers predicted the sale price would exceed $45 million, a Christie’s representative commented that “it’s a huge amount of money, given what’s going on in the world today.”

Yesterday Monday, in another Christie’s auction, the wristwatch worn by Marlon Brando in the movie “Apocalypse Now” (1979) was sold for 4.66 million euros. The actor had engraved his signature on the back of the watch so he wouldn’t lose it during the filming of the movie. Two years ago, the same watch was sold at auction for €2.08 million.
