Little Sonny was born by caesarean section and is the biggest baby born in the country in the last 13 years
An incredible pregnancy recently had a happy ending at an Ontario maternity hospital, where a woman gave birth to a nearly 7kg baby.
In late October, Chase and Britteney Ayres welcomed their fifth child with love and excitement.
Little Sonny was born by caesarean section, weighed exactly 6,713 kilograms and is the largest baby born in Canada, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in the last 13 years.
“I’ve never delivered a baby this big and I’ve never seen one born in all my training,” said Dr. Asa Ahimbisibwe, a member of the team that treated Britteney.
“Everyone was taking bets on how big he was going to be, even the doctors and nurses,” said the newborn’s happy father, Chance Ayres.
In fact, at the moment of the birth, those in the operating room and in the doctors’ and nurses’ room cheered.
Little (for his age) Sonny is perfectly healthy and is now at home.
The newborn is already wearing clothes for a 6-month-old baby and is enjoying his mom’s hug.
