A press conference was given by the director of Al Shifa hospital in Gaza describing the tragic conditions prevailing in the largest hospital in Gaza with the shortages remaining huge.

As he said the hospital has now run out of oxygen and water: “The conditions are tragic and those in the hospital they scream with thirst» he said characteristically.

He describes tanks surrounding the hospital, drones overhead and Israeli soldiers moving through the corridors – particularly in the emergency department.

According to him, Israeli troops blew up the main water line of Al-Sifah, as reported by the BBC, which however cannot confirm the information.

There are more than 650 patients in the hospital, 500 medical staff and more than 5,000 evacuees, the hospital director claims, although doctors can no longer move between wards.

“Sniper operations continue, no one can move from one building to another and we have lost communication with our colleagues”he underlined and added that Israeli forces have taken some bodies from the hospital while four patients undergoing dialysis are in critical condition.
