IDF: 65-year-old Hamas hostage found dead near Gaza’s Al Shifa hospital

The body of the 65-year-old Hamas hostage, Yehudit Weiss, was found by Israeli soldiers near the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza.

According to the IDF statement, the victim was identified by a medical examiner and her family has been informed.

Weiss, a mother of five, was abducted from Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, the Times of Israel reports. Her husband, Shmulik Weiss, was also found murdered inside their home.

The IDF did not provide further details on the cause of her death, but the announcement specifically states:

“The body of Yehudit Weiss, who was kidnapped by the terrorist organization Hamas, was recovered by IDF troops from a structure next to Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip and taken to Israeli territory. Military equipment was also found in the structure Yehudit was in, including Kalashnikov rifles and RPGs. The IDF sends its deepest condolences to the family.” and they add “we won’t stop the mission until it’s done.”
