One person was killed and three others were injured yesterday Monday in a shooting incident at a Walmart store in the city of Beavercreek, Ohio, in the USA, as reported by the television network WHIO, while eyewitnesses said that a man opened fire with a rifle.

The three injured were taken to a nearby hospital, and Beavercreek police said they received a call about a shooting incident and added that there was no longer an active threat to the public.

This city has approximately 46,000 inhabitants.

The Walmart building was evacuatedand, after the investigations carried out in it, “there is no active threat at this time”, the police announced in X, without mentioning the number of victims from the incident.

“I was shopping for Thanksgiving when this guy walked by me holding an assault rifle and started yelling,” one woman said in a video posted to social media.

She added that she does not know if there are dead or injured. “I ran (…) he shot about 10 times (…) I’m lucky to be alive,” she said with tears in her eyes.

Other eyewitnesses described the attacker on social media, saying he was “a tall, young, white man” carrying an army bag.

“We are shocked by what happened at our store in Beavercreek, Ohio. It remains an ongoing situation and we are working closely with the police,” Walmart said in a statement.

Police said they will release more information when it becomes available.
