Authorities have identified the body of Sunny Gambei, 25, who was missing and believed to be among the hostages.

Gambei from Yokne’am, was working at the Supernova festival and was spotted for the last time to resort to a police station, after he had been shot in the leg. It is not known why it took so long to identify her body.

The girl, who had recently graduated from law school, had called her mother at 6:40 a.m., telling her about the rocket attack and asking what she should do, her older brother, Aviel Gabbay, said.

Gambey was in her car at the time and her mother told her to find a safe place. He found a shelter near Kibbutz Alumim and went there, not yet knowing that in addition to the rockets there were terrorists shooting at those present.

Hamas gunmen threw grenades into the shelter, according to two of the girl’s friends who stayed in the shelter and survived, but lost limbs. Gambey emerged from the shelter and appeared to return to her car, where she was shot before being taken by ambulance to the police station.

The police station was later attacked by Hamas and the girl’s fate has remained unknown ever since.
