Axl Rose allegedly “sexually assaulted” American model Sheila Kennedy in the 1980s
Model Sheila Kennedy accuses Axl Rose of sexual assault. As reported by the BBC, in 1989 in New York Sheila Kennedy, 26 years old at the time, claimed in the lawsuit that she met the singer of Guns N’ Roses in a night club.
That same night he raped her in his hotel room.

She claims that a friend of hers invited her to a nightclub to meet the band. She then talked to Axl Rose at the club and eventually he invited her to his hotel for a party.
Her friend was not invited because Axl Rose allegedly said she “wasn’t ‘hot’ enough,” according to the lawsuit, and she apologized to her friend and went to his hotel with him, along with another model, and future MTV host Riki Rachtman;
In Axl’s hotel room he gave his guests cocaine, champagne and alcohol. After Kennedy went to the bathroom, he allegedly waited for her outside the door and when she came out he “pushed her against the wall and kissed her.”
“She was open to sleeping with him if things progressed,” the lawsuit said. However, he says she did not consent to the alleged intercourse with him that happened later that night.
Later at the party, when only Rose, Rachtman, the other model, and Kennedy were in the room, Axl Rose started having sex with the other model, according to the lawsuit. She claimed she felt uncomfortable, claiming that “Rose was aggressive in a way that seemed painful to the model.” She also claimed that Rose “encouraged group sex” but that she was not interested and left the room with Rachtman.
“He dragged her down the hall back to his bedroom”
The model claims that Rose went into Rachtman’s room and upon seeing her, he punched her and grabbed her by the hair. “While she was on the floor, Rose grabbed her by the hair and dragged her into the suite back to his bedroom,” the lawsuit said, adding that her knees were bleeding after scraping on the carpet. When they got to his room Rose threw her on the bed, grabbed her pantyhose and tied her hands behind her back.
“She lay there on the bed with her hands tied behind her back, bleeding, vulnerable and alone with Rose while he was in a sexual, volatile rage,” the lawsuit says. “Kennedy had just witnessed Rose having violent sex with another woman. He dragged Kennedy into his bedroom like a caveman and acted out of uncontrollable rage. Rose had physically stopped her from leaving. Kennedy was trapped.” Rose then proceeded to engage in a promiscuous sexual act, according to the lawsuit.
“He treated her as his property to be used solely for his sexual pleasure,” the lawsuit said.
“He didn’t use a condom. Kennedy did not agree to this. She realized that the safest thing to do was to lie in bed and wait for his sexual assault to end.”
The model claims she experienced PTSD and is seeking compensation
According to the lawsuit, Kennedy developed PTSD-like symptoms after the alleged incident when she heard Rose’s name or Guns N’ Roses music. She further claims that she suffered from anxiety and depression following the attack and that the trauma jeopardized her career. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages to be determined by the court.
The BBC finally notes that Axl has been accused of domestic and sexual abuse many times in the past. The lawsuit itself states one “abuse history” when describing Rose, citing several other sexual and domestic violence accusers in previous decades. The lawsuit related to the cases of his former partners, Erin Everly and Stephanie Seymour, which were detailed in a 1994 document.
