Israeli forces hit around 200 Hamas targets in Gaza overnight as ground forces continue to operate in the Strip.

In a statement, the Israeli Army claims that the Negev Brigade destroyed Hamas “infrastructure” inside a school in Beit Hanun of northern Gaza, which was used by businessmen to attack troops.

Inside the school complex, the soldiers found two tunnel entrancesincluding one that was trapped with explosives and other weapons.

Ground forces also directed airstrikes overnight, including against cars carrying rockets and mortars for Hamas operatives, an anti-tank missile launch site, a group of Hamas operatives and a nearby weapons depot.

The Israeli Navy also carried out raids overnight, targeting Hamas observation posts and other infrastructure along the Gaza coast, according to the military.

In addition, three Israeli soldiers were wounded by mortar shells fired from Israel’s northern border with Lebanon overnight, according to the IDF.

“During the night, several mortar rounds were detected from Lebanon towards positions of Israeli forces in the area of ​​Shtula. As a result, three IDF soldiers were slightly injured and withdrawn to receive medical treatment.”

IDF: Hamas commander killed in airstrike

Meanwhile, the IDF says it killed the commander of Hamas’ Shati Battalion in an airstrike yesterday, Sunday.

At a press conference, IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the commander was responsible for conducting raids on Israeli soil in the October 7 attack.

“Following IDF and ISA intelligence, an IDF fighter jet struck and killed Haitham Khuwajari, the Commander of the Shati Battalion of Hamas. Under his command, Hamas terrorists raided Israeli territory on October 7 during the invasion and massacre of southern Israel.”

Hamas’ health ministry in Gaza released casualty figures claiming that at least 15,523 Palestinians, including 6,600 children have been killed by Israeli military operations since October 7, with an additional 41,316 wounded. It says at least 6,800 people are missing.

The head of the Red Cross will visit Egypt and Gaza

At the same time, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, is expected to arrive in Egypt and the Gaza Strip today for discussions on the access of Red Cross representatives to the hostages taken on October 7 and are being held by Hamas, according to Jewish media.

The organization has come under heavy criticism in Israel and abroad for not doing more to push for access to the hostages to check on their welfare, deliver medicine and facilitate communication with families, according to its mandate.
