The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) traveled to Gaza from where she appealed for the protection of civilians and asks to visit the hostages held by Hamas
The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoliarcic, announced today through the X platform that she arrived in the Gaza Strip and denounces the “unbearable” suffering of its population, while the World Health Organization announced that it will hold an emergency meeting on December 10 of its Executive Council to discuss health conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
“I arrived in Gaza, where the suffering of the population is unbearable. I repeat our urgent appeal for civilians to be protected under the laws of war and for aid to be able to enter unimpeded. The hostages must be released and the ICRC must be able to visit them safely,” Spoliarcic wrote to X.

Meanwhile, according to a document from the World Health Organization, WHO will hold an emergency meeting of its Executive Board on December 10 to review health conditions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called the meeting after receiving a request from 14 WHO board members, the organization’s document said.
A WHO spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
