In the wake of his request Vladimir Putin, who asked the Russian women to do… eight children each to address the demographic crisis in Russia, North Korea’s leader appealed to North Korean women for more children.
According to demographic forecasts by 2070, the population of North Korea will have decreased by 2 million people by 2070, while the decrease in births in the country has been stable over the past decade.
“The prevention of declining birth rates and good care of children are our duties at home to handle while working with mothers”Kim said at the event.
The North Korean dictator hosted the “National Mothers’ Meeting” amid a declining birth rate, and his apparent emotion caused him to pull out the his handkerchief to wipe his tears. The women attending the event in traditional dress, watching Kim “break”, wept with him, clapped and cheered him.
