Plumber James Anderson, founder of NGO Depher provides free services to people experiencing financial difficulties
Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Elizabeth Eberstein have donated £20,000 to the founder of a charity which provides free plumbing services and food to elderly and vulnerable households. James Anderson became known as “Britain’s kindest plumber” when in 2017, he founded the Depher NGO in Burnley, Lancashire providing free services to people experiencing financial hardship. It relies on donations and since 2017 has helped more than 500 thousand people.
According to the BBC he made headlines around the world when he refused to take money from an elderly woman suffering from leukemia to repair her boiler.
For the wonderful “Christmas present” of the famous couple, James Anderson stated in his post on X, (formerly Twitter). “This wonderful and heartwarming donation of £20,000 will give hope to thousands of people, families and children. For life they will both have my respect and love.”
In total, the couple has donated to this organization, the amount of 75,000 English pounds.
