Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), regarding the war in Gaza.
The Turkish president stated that it is important for Israel to stop its attacks as soon as possible and to continue with determination the steps that have been taken to secure a permanent ceasefire.
According to a statement from the Turkish presidency, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that “in order to ensure peace in the region, the decisions taken at the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League should be implemented meticulously and the initiatives to strengthen of the international community’s support for Palestine should continue in a spirit of unity.”
During the conversation, Turkey’s efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians were also discussed.
