Max Payne’s voice “shut up”. THE James McCaffrey, the American actor best known for portraying the popular video game character has died, according to TMZ sources. He died at the age of 65 on Sunday after a battle with cancer, according to the same source.
The 65-year-old actor has reportedly been diagnosed with multiple myeloma.
“James McCaffrey had a successful 35-year career in television and film,” a rep told TMZ.
“Trained at the Actor’s Studio, he never lost his love for creating characters. However, his good looks often propelled him into leading roles.” he added.
The actor Kevin Dillon, his brother Matt Dillon, posted a message on his Instagram to pay tribute, writing: “James McCaffrey we were lucky to meet you. My best friend you will be missed.”
