The World Food Program (WFP) announced today, Wednesday, that a motorcade had arrived in Gaza transports 750 tons of food aid, the first originating in Jordan after the war between Israel and Hamas began.
The convoy of 46 trucks, organized by WFP and a Jordanian humanitarian NGO, JHCO, is transporting 750 tons of food aid and took “weeks of coordination with all parties,” the UN agency said in a statement. He passed through the Kerem Shalom border crossing.
“Creating a corridor through Jordan will increase the flow of aid (…) This will allow us to secure more aid and have more trucks on the way,” Samer Abdeljamber, WFP’s representative in Palestine, said in the statement. .
“We are grateful to everyone who made this possible. This is a promising stage which will hopefully allow us more stable and greater access to reach more people in Gaza, faster,” he added.
