Until the discovery of these videos, Israel was under the impression that Dave required intensive care, traveled in ambulances, used wheelchairs and suffered from physical disabilities.

Over the course of several years, Dave has survived a total of seven assassination attempts. In four of them, including Operation Protective Edge in 2014, he was injured, in some cases seriously, and contrary to what Israel believed, he has recovered.

His habit of staying at the homes of different allies each night to avoid detection earned him the name “Daif”, an Arabic nickname that literally translates as “visitor”.

In recent years, Deif has threatened Israel, stating that the state will pay a heavy price for the events on the Temple Mount and in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem.

Israel has offered $100,000 for information

Last week, the IDF dropped leaflets in Gaza offering a reward of more than $100,000 to anyone who could provide reliable information on the whereabouts of senior Hamas officials, including Mohammed Deif. The flyers said the IDF would pay $400,000 for information leading to Yahya Sinwar’s location and $300,000 for help locating his brother Mahmoud.
