“They are destroying the blood of our country. That’s what they do. They’re destroying our country,’ Donald Trump said, rejecting Hitler comparison saying he ‘never read Mein Kampf’
Immigration was mentioned once again yesterday, Tuesday, by former US President Donald Trump, saying that people who illegally cross the border into the United States are “destroying the blood of our country”.
“They’re being dumped at the border and they’re pouring into our country and nobody said to check them,” Trump said at a campaign event in Waterloo, Iowa.
“They are destroying the blood of our country. That’s what they do. They are destroying our country” he added, causing strong reactions.
The new comments on immigration come after Trump told a rally in New Hampshire last Saturday that immigrants entering the US are “poisoning the blood of our country.”
Trump repeated the claim on the Truth Social on Saturday night, commenting in all caps: “Illegal immigration is poisoning the blood of our nation. They come from prisons, from mental institutions – from all over the world.”
Intense reactions
Donald Trump’s remarks last weekend drew sharp criticism from President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, who likened Trump’s remarks to Adolf Hitler’s use of the term “blood poisoning” in his “Mein Kampf” manifesto. to downplay immigration and race mixing.
These statements of his even provoked the reaction of some Republicans.
Trump, however, dismissed the comparison to Hitler during Tuesday’s event in Iowa, saying he “never read Mein Kampf” and that Hitler made the comment “in a very different way.”
