Rapper Ge, the previously known named Kanye West, apologized in Hebrew to the Jewish community on Tuesday for past anti-Semitic remarks, saying he seeks forgiveness and is sorry for the pain he has caused.

The artist caused outrage last year with his posts on social networking sites. One of them said that musician Sean “Diddy” Combs “controlled by the Jews”, while another showed it Star of David enclosing a swastika.

The Anti-Defamation League, which records anti-Semitic acts, characterized his statements as inflammatory and conspiratorial. Recorded 59 anti-Semitic statements or posts by Kanye West’s ex in 2022 alone.

“I sincerely apologize from the Jewish community for any unplanned outburst (…) It is not my intention to offend or disrespect and I am deeply sorry for the pain I have caused,” the rapper wrote, in Hebrew, on his Instagram page.

After Ge’s anti-Semitic outbursts in interviews and posts, Adidas and Gap companies they stopped working with him. Restrictions were imposed also temporarily on his accounts on social networking sites.

“I vowed to learn from this experience to be more sensitive and understanding in the future. Your forgiveness is important to me,” he added in his post.
