Hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have been almost daily since the war between Israel and Hamas began
A Hezbollah fighter and two civilian members of his family were killed in an Israeli airstrike in a border town in southern Lebanon, state media and the pro-Iranian group said today.
Hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have been almost daily since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, which erupted following an unprecedented attack on Israeli soil by the Palestinian movement backed by the powerful Lebanese group.
“Enemy aircraft raided a residence (…) in its center Bind Jbeil”about two kilometers from the border with Israel,” the national official news agency ANI reported.
The agency said a man, his brother and his daughter-in-law were killed, and a fourth person from the same family, Bazi, was injured in the raid which took place late yesterday evening, Tuesday.
THE Hezbollah then announced the death of one of its fighters, Ali Bazi.
An AFP photographer at the scene saw a two-storey house completely destroyed, and significant damage to neighboring houses and shops.
A family member told an AFP photographer that the brother of Hezbollah member Ibrahim Bazi, who was killed along with his wife, had Australian citizenship. According to the same source, he had arrived from Australia a week ago.
Since October 7, hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah have killed nearly 160 people on the Lebanese side, of which more than 110 were Hezbollah fighters.
On the Israeli side of the border, at least 13 people have been killed, including nine soldiers, since October 7.
Israel’s military said on Tuesday that nine soldiers and a civilian were wounded by Hezbollah rocket fire, one of which hit a church in an Arab village in southern Israel.
The hostilities have largely been limited to the border zones, but Israel has launched strikes at a greater depth, up to 20 km from the border, during the last few days.
Israel maintains that Hezbollah, which has no established positions in the border zone, should withdraw north of the Litani River, about 30 km further north.
