Ukrainian air force says 32 of 46 Iranian-made drones launched by Russian forces shot down
One person was killed in an overnight attack by Russian forces with dozens of attack drones in Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities announced today.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that 32 of 46 Iranian-made drones launched by Russian forces were shot down. Most of those that were not intercepted hit areas near the front line, mainly in the southern region of Kherson.
The governor of Odessa clarified that a 35-year-old man is dead, who was killed by the debris of a drone that was shot down in a residential area. The Ukrainian Interior Ministry said four people, including a six-year-old child, were injured.
There is currently no further information on casualties. The air force said it shot down drones over areas of central, southern and western Ukraine.
Russia has been waging a campaign of regular airstrikes on population centers far behind the front lines since its invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago.
