The Danish company Maersk announced today that has planned the crossing of several dozen ships with containers from Suez Canal and the Red Seaover the next several weeks, following the suspension of crossings from the region earlier this month due to the risk of attacks.

The schedule continues to be subject to change depending on contingency plans that may be developed in the coming days, the company added.

The shipping giant said on December 24 that preparing to return to the Red Sea, citing the deployment of the US-led military operation to protect vessels against attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

Among the vessels mentioned in an advisory sent to clients today is the Maren Maersk, which sailed from Tangier on December 24 and will “proceed via the Suez Canal” with an estimated arrival date of January 14 in Singapore.

From December 19, Maersk has changed its fleetsending them around Africa and past the Cape of Good Hope to avoid attacks, charging customers extra freight and additional weeks of time to transport products from Asia to Europe and the east coast of North America.
