Russia launched today Tuesday new wave of attacks against Ukraine, killing at least five civilians and injuring 130 others mainly in Kiev and Kharkiv, according to Ukrainian authorities who are asking their Western allies for further military assistance.

As usual, the Russian military assured that it only targeted military installations which were all “destroyed” with long-range missiles and explosive-laden drones.

“The shots were specifically calculated by the enemy to cause as much damage as possible. This is completely conscious terrorism,” the president complained Volodymyr Zelensky in his daily address to the Ukrainians.

As he stated, Russia almost launched 300 missiles and more than 200 Shahed drones full of explosives against Ukraine since December 29.

Russia is “deliberately targeting vital infrastructure and populated areas,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov charged.

The Ukrainian military said that Russia launched 99 missiles early today. Seventy-two were shot down, including 10 supersonic Kinzhals, by Patriot air defense systems, “a record.”

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that after the strikes, “Britain will continue to support Ukraine firmly” in 2024, mainly with “new deliveries” of weapons.

Germany’s foreign minister said that “with every missile, Putin shows that he wants to destroy Ukraine.” “We stand by the Ukrainian people as long as they need us.”
