At least three people were killed today Wednesday by Russian bombing in Ukraine, after several days of mass casualties with dozens dead and wounded.
Russian forces targeted the village of Sandove, in the Kherson region, killing one resident. Rescuers recovered his body from the ruins of his home, the governor of that region, Oleksandr Prokudin, said in a Telegram post.
A woman was killed in the Novotiaginka community in the same area, Prokudin added.
The Kherson region, where the Dnieper River separates Russian and Ukrainian forces, has been the target of frequent Russian shelling since Russian troops withdrew from the city of the same name in November 2022.
In the eastern Donetsk region, four Russian rockets hit a residence in the town of Avdiivka, killing a man and injuring a woman, said Vadim Filaskin, the head of the local military command. Russian forces have been trying for months to encircle Avdiivka, an industrial Donbas town where Ukrainian soldiers hold their fortified positions.
