THE Iranian cleric Ahmad Khatami, criticized the US and the Israeli regime for creating and supporting Daesh (State of Israel – ISIS), the terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the deadly terrorist attacks in the Iranian city of Kerman.

Addressing worshipers in Tehran on Friday, Khatami claimed that Daesh was created by the US. He made the comment in reference to a campaign speech by former US President Donald Trump in 2016, in which he accused his predecessor (Obama) of co-founding the terrorist group.

Ayatollah Khatami also stated that Daesh has also been supported by the Israeli regime, stating that members of the terrorist groups were transferred to Israeli hospitals when they were injured during battles with government forces in Iraq and Syria.

The high priest’s comments came one day after the Islamic State claimed responsibility for Wednesday’s two explosions in Iran’s southeastern city of Kerman.
Dozens of people were killed and many others injured in the explosions that occurred during a ceremony to mark the fourth anniversary of the assassination of Iran’s top commander, General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad on 3 January 2020.
