Israeli forces have completed dismantling the “military structure” of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in northern Gaza and killed nearly 8,000 fighters in the area, an army spokesman said today.

The army also seized tens of thousands of weapons in that area and millions of documents, Daniel Hagari said in an online briefing to reporters: “We are now focusing on dismantling Hamas in the center and south of the Gaza Strip.”

“We will do this differently … it takes time, there is no short cut in the fight against terrorism,” the Israeli military spokesman said, as the war enters its fourth month tomorrow, Sunday.

Seven Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and dozens injured today in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Khan Younis, a major city in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The house belongs to the Al-Nabris family, Palestinian health officials said.
