Anti-war protesters gathered last night (local time) in her Times Square New York and outside of him White House in Washington to protest US and British missile strikes on military installations in Yemen, underscoring the risk that the operation could spread the war to the Gaza Strip.
“Hands off the Middle East”, “hands off Yemen”, “hands off the Gauze”, shouted many of them in New York.

Among the collectives that called yesterday’s demonstrations is the ANSWER alliance (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, “act now to stop the war and end racism”).
The alliance described through X (the former Twitter) the strikes in Yemen as a “major escalation” that could set the entire region on fire.
The US and British operation is perhaps the most dramatic sign yet of the escalation of the Israel/Hamas war that broke out on October 7, although the US and its allies insist their intention is to “de-escalate” the tension.
