Faced with fierce storm Isha has been since last night the Britainwith many areas flooded by the rains and transport paralyzed.

The country’s rail network suffered problems, flights were canceled and thousands of homes were left without electricity today.

Sirens sounded in many cities as they faced the fear of flooding.

Electricity operator UK Power Networks said it had restored power to most homes where it had been cut in the south and east of England, but that around 45,000 homes in Northern Ireland remained without power.

THE Scotland was hardest hit as winds gusting to 144 kilometers per hour led to the cancellation of all railway services.

Dozens flights from Edinburgh and Glasgow airports were also cancelled.

Train services in some parts of southern England were also affected — including those between London stations and Gatwick Airport.
At the same time, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport canceled dozens of flights scheduled for today due to the strong winds expected in the Netherlands.
Yesterday, 102 flights to and from Dublin were also cancelled.

Train services in Scotland will be disrupted until network operator Network Rail Scotland inspects the tracks for damage after the storm passes, ScotRail told Platform X.
