Car Crashes into Farmers Barricade, Kills Three – Occupants Arrested
A woman was killed this morning at 05:45 local time when a car crashed into a barricade that they had set up farmers at southwestern France during it protest carried out by their branch at a national level, a police spokesman announced.
“One car crashed into the farmers’ barricade. He hit three people. A woman was killed and two other people (her husband and daughter) were seriously injured. The three occupants of the car were arrested“, the spokesman said, adding that he could not provide more information on how the car hit the barricade in Ariez prefecture.
According to a police source, “a car crashed into the barricade for an unknown reason». A woman “around 30” was killed, while the injured are a “forty-year-old” and a “minor” girl, according to the same source who clarifies that “the three people were at the barricade”.
French farmers have been protesting for several days — mostly blocking roads — demanding measures ranging from the simplification of administrative procedures to faster compensation in the event of disasters.
