Qatar’s prime minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, referred to “remarkable progress” following the weekend talks in the French capital.

According to him, a proposal for the declaration of a new truce in the Palestinian enclave and the release of the hostages will be transferred to Hamas.

Qatar, with the cooperation of Egypt and the US, has been leading mediation efforts since the outbreak of war on October 7. In total, according to the Israeli authorities, 132 hostages remain in the Gaza Strip, of which at least 28 are believed to be dead.
