Today, during the EU’s emergency summit, the 27 countries reached an agreement to provide an additional €50 billion in aid to Ukraine.
It was preceded by a multilateral meeting of EU country leaders with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, which was convened by Charles Michel before the start of the extraordinary Summit.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni participated in the meeting aimed at overcoming Viktor Orbán’s objections to the economic aid package for Ukraine, amounting to 50 billion euros in the four years 2024-2027 , the President of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council.

“On the basis of the Commission’s annual report on the implementation of the Ukraine Facility, the European Council will hold an annual discussion on the implementation of the Facility with a view to providing guidance.
