Scenes of horror and panic unfolded yesterday after a barrage of gunfire took place in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, near an outdoor celebration of the NFL champion Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory, leaving one dead and at least twenty injured.
Police Chief Stacey Graves told a news conference that three people had been arrested “and are under investigation” in connection with the deadly attack at the city’s Union Station following a confetti parade.

Fifteen of the injured have life-threatening injuries, Fire Chief Ross Grandison said at a late afternoon news conference.
An estimated one million people were in downtown Kansas City to celebrate their team’s Super Bowl championship, and the area where the shooting took place in Union Station was just steps away from where the team held a victory rally for thousands of fans.
Kids were able to come see their football heroes as school districts in the Kansas City metro area canceled classes to allow students to attend the celebration.

The players were still on the scene of the Chiefs’ victory rally when the shooting began. While some people had started to move away, the area was still full of fans, who started to flee in fear after the sound of gunshots.
Graves said guns were found at the scene, but he could not say how many. More than 800 police officers were in the area for the event when the shooting began.
All Chiefs players, coaches and staff who attended are safe, Mayor Quinton Lucas said at the news conference.
The moment one of the perpetrators of the bloody attack in Kansas City, United States, is arrested, during the Super Bowl parade, was recorded by an eyewitness with a cell phone camera.
One of the perpetrators tries to escape among the crowd, when he is noticed by citizens, who pursue him and immobilize him on the ground.
