A ten-month-old infant, a three-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy were found dead in a home in Bristol, West England on Sunday mornings.

The police are talking about “heinous” incident that constitutes a “tragedy” and which has caused “deep disturbance” to the local community, as well as to the law enforcement agencies that were called to the scene from the neighborhood due to concerns for the safety of the children.

A 42-year-old woman, whose relationship to the minor victims has not been clarified, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is being treated for unspecified injuries, which are not life-threatening.

Autopsies are expected to be completed by the end of the week which will determine the cause of death of the three children.

The incident is being treated as an isolated incident, with no further concern for the safety of local residents.

Many residents, however, are in a state of shock and the local church opened a few hours later to welcome those who felt the need to mourn and pray there after the loss of the children.

The investigation into the exact circumstances of the fatal incident is described as “extremely sensitive, complex and thorough”.

At the same time, an internal police investigation is being conducted as it emerged that the local police had been called earlier in the month to deal with concerns about the children.
