At least four people died on Thursday after a fire broke out in an apartment building in the Spanish city of Valencia, an emergency services official said, while authorities earlier said 14 were injured.

“We can confirm that we have four dead,” Jorge Suarez Torres, deputy director of the emergency response service in Valencia province, told reporters, adding that he was not yet in a position to say if there were any missing.
