“It all started in Crimea… This Russian revanchism, this war” started by Russia, he stressed tonight Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the start of the attack on the Crimean peninsula. That day determined the future of international security and international relations, Zelensky said in his video message.
Commandos without insignia on their uniforms began occupying government buildings on the Crimean peninsula, raising the Russian flag. On March 18, 2014, Moscow announced the annexation of Crimea to Russian Federationa decision not recognized by the international community.
Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated tonight that Crimea must return to Ukrainian sovereignty. “Right there, in Crimea,” the Ukrainian president said, “(Russia) must suffer a decisive defeat.”
The Kyiv has repeatedly emphasized that his goal is the liberation of all Ukrainian territories under the control of Russian forces, including the Crimean peninsula.
