Kate Middleton’s first official duty after completing her recovery period was announced in London by the Ministry of Defence.
The Princess of Wales, who is recovering from January abdominal surgery, will be tasked with inspecting the troops who will take part in the second of three Trooping the Color ceremonies this June.
It is an annual military display to celebrate the monarch’s birthday, in which mainly mounted soldiers present the banners of their regiments before officers and members of the royal family.
The ceremony with the presence of Kate Middleton is set for June 8. Around 1,400 soldiers from the Royal Household Division and the Royal Mounted Artillery will take part.
A week later, on the 15th, the inspection will be carried out by King Charles, who today received Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt at Buckingham Palace ahead of tomorrow’s tabling of the new budget in the House of Commons.
The 75-year-old monarch is undergoing regular cancer treatment after being diagnosed weeks ago.
It is unclear whether this will be Kate Middleton’s first public appearance since her recovery period, which was initially reported to last until at least the end of March.
