Two Greek companies are included in this year’s list of the thousand fastest growing European companies, a list compiled every year by the British newspaper Financial Times in collaboration with the German data analysis company Statista.

This year’s list ranks companies based on their 2019-2022 Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR).

The fastest growing Greek company, at position 83 on the list, is Ferryscanner, founded in 2018 and active in the Catering and Travel sector, with an average growth rate of 172.4% and 27 employees (in 2022).

In position 117 follows the second Greek company, Active Energy Solutions from the Energy and Utilities sector. Founded in 2014 and with two employees, it recorded a corresponding growth rate of 147.3%.

The largest representation in the thousand is of information technology and software companies, with 188 presences.

Next are manufacturing companies with 94 presences on the list, followed by e-commerce companies with 78 presences, down after exiting the restrictions of the pandemic years.

In fourth place are the energy and utility companies, with 69 presences.

The fastest growing company in Europe for 2023 is Raylyst Solar, a Prague-based distributor of solar panels and other photovoltaic products. Founded in 2018, the company recorded a growth rate of 824.4% in 2023, capitalizing on increased demand for renewable energy.

They are followed in order by the French advertising company Adagio with a growth rate of 582.6% and the Italian digital advertising company Bidberry with a corresponding rate of 424.4%.

In terms of geographical distribution, Italy maintains the lead with 309 companies on the list, followed by Germany with 202.

London remains for the eighth year at the top in terms of the number of most companies on the list with 69, while Milan with 44 overtakes Paris in second place, which drops to third with 39
