For his part, the American president Joe Biden stated that NATO is stronger than ever with Sweden joining the Alliance.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to divide defense alliance by launching an attack on Ukraine, but the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is instead “more united, more determined and stronger than ever,” Biden said.

Germany stated that NATO is more powerful after Sweden joined – which ended two centuries of military neutrality – two years after Russia invaded Ukraine.
