A German man has been sentenced to life in prison today for the murder of his wife and son, whom he stoned to death inside a cave in Tenerife, Canary Islands in 2019, an archipelago court has announced.

Thomas Hadrick was sentenced to life in prison in Spain for “the murder (April 2019) of his wife and one of his sons with a stone,” the court said in a press release.

Hadrick was also convicted of attempting to kill his other son, then seven years old, “without success, because the child managed to escape and survive, having walked a long distance in a remote, uninhabited area of ​​the island. .

On April 23, 2019, Thomas Hadrick, then 43 years old, “deliberately led his wife and their two children, aged 10 and 7, to a cave, located between two gorges, in a mountainous area,” where no one could help them “, in the community of Andehe, in the southern part of the island.

There, he “hit (his wife) many times (…) with his hands and with the help of a stone” until he killed her, the court clarifies in its verdict.

When the eldest son intervened to protect his mother, his father had the same fate, while the seven-year-old boy managed to escape and notify the authorities, which led to the arrest of the father.
