A website linked to Hamas warned Palestinians today and Palestinian organizations against cooperating with Israel to provide security for humanitarian convoys in the midst of the war in the Gaza Strip which already counts five months.

Those who do not comply will be treated as traitors with an iron fist, the Al-Majd website said, citing a security official in the Palestinian armed forces.

The warning was issued in response to Israeli media reports that Israel is considering equipping some Palestinians or Palestinian groups in Gaza to provide security and protection to humanitarian convoys entering the besieged enclave as part of a wider plan for humanitarian supplies after the end of hostilities.

The Israeli prime minister’s office has declined to comment on the report, which came a week after dozens of Palestinians were killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire on a large crowd that had gathered to receive food from a convoy that had entered northern Gaza.

“The attempt by the occupation forces to communicate with the heads of clans and families in order to operate within the Gaza Strip is considered direct cooperation with these forces and constitutes a betrayal of the country, which we will not tolerate. Attempts by the Israeli occupation forces to establish groups to run Gaza is a ‘failed conspiracy’ that will not materialize,” the website said, citing the official.

With law and order rapidly deteriorating in Hamas-run Gaza and police refusing to provide security for convoys due to the risk of being targeted by Israeli forces, the issue of securing life-saving food and other supplies has become a serious one. problem.

In Gaza there are several large traditional factions, which are linked to political organizations including Hamas and Fatah, the rival organization that dominates the Palestinian Authority in the occupied West Bank.

Some of these organizations are believed to be well equipped and there is no indication that they would consider working with Israel.
