Joe Biden secured the required number of delegates (1,968) as did Donald Trump who won the required number of delegates (1,215)
Former US President Donald Trump, in turn, secured the math yesterday Tuesday, winning the required number of delegates (1,215) in the upcoming congress of his party, the Republicanshis elevation to the party’s presidential candidate in the November elections, according to calculations by the Edison Research institute and American media, after the intra-party votes held in four states (Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, Washington).

It is thus officialized that – barring a shocking contingency – for the first time two candidates will face each other for the second time in a row in a presidential election in the USA after almost 70 years.
Earlier, Democratic President Joe Biden assured the required number of representatives (1,968) at his party’s upcoming convention to be nominated for the presidency after the Georgia caucus. He never faced serious competition in the party and is now simply expected to formally receive the anointing at the August convention.
After this development, Mr. Biden issued a scathing statement, once again accusing Mr. Trump of threatening “democracy,” if not “the very idea of America.”
“Voters are now called upon to choose the future of this country. Will we stand up and defend our democracy, or will we let it be torn down? Will we stand up for our right to choose and protect our freedoms, or will we let the extremists take them away from us?” he hammered.
Yesterday’s results were considered a foregone conclusion for both opponents. Donald Trump’s latest challenger in the race for the Republican nomination, Nikki Haley, dropped out last week.
