The European Union today called on Israel to open additional passages other than the Cyprus Sea Corridor so that more aid can reach Gaza.

“While we support the Cyprus Sea Corridor, we call on Israel to open additional passages for more aid to reach Gaza, including the northern part, and to ease overall customs restrictions,” EU Crisis Management Commissioner Janez Lenarcic said in a his message on social networking platform X.

The statement was made after Lenarcic’s online meeting with Foreign Ministers of Cyprus Konstantinos Kobo, US Anthony Blinken, Britain’s David Cameron, United Arab Emirates’ Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Qatar’s Abdulrahman Al Thani and the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Aid and Reconstruction in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag.
