Another load it is ready to depart from Larnaca bound for Gaza stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Constantinos Kombos, upon his arrival at the Council of Ministers in Brussels, adding that he will inform his counterparts about the progress of the maritime humanitarian corridor.

The Cypriot Foreign Minister noted that “the first shipment of 200 tons arrived in Gaza and was safely distributed.”

“A second, larger shipment is ready to depart as we speak. Therefore, we have now made the trial application and the goal is to continue, in a systematic and escalating way, the flow of cargo to Gaza” he added, pointing out that for this purpose “Israel lifted the naval blockade of Gaza exclusively for the project Amalthea”.

Mr. Kombos added that the goal is to continue “the logistical upgrade of the entire structure”. “In this direction we continue to see the usefulness of land and air crossings,” he continued, stressing that “we insist that this is a complementary and additional effort.”

Finally, as he said, a meeting will be held in Cyprus with the participation of over 40 countries for the operational coordination of the next steps in the implementation of the maritime humanitarian corridor for Gaza.
