The dispatch of a second ship with humanitarian aid to Gaza, which will set sail from Cyprus, was announced by Government Spokesman Constantinos Letympiotis.

In particular, Mr. Letympiotis stated that preparations have been completed and the ship “Jennifer” is ready to transport five hundred tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as soon as the weather conditions permit.

Speaking on state radio, Konstantinos Letympiotis he emphasized that at the moment, the bet is to continue and intensify the flow of aid to the Palestinian enclave.

Called to address the meeting that will be held in Cyprus next Thursday with the participation of more than forty countries, Mr. Letympiotis explained that the Nicosia initiative is expected to include countries that so far had not publicly expressed interest.

He underlined, at the same time, that the Republic of Cyprus is in constant communication with the European Union, stressing that the needs for humanitarian aid, means of transport and technical support are very great.
