AADE: Which HEIs are consolidated in Attica and Thessaloniki

The tax office is changing its “face”, with the establishment of Tax Service Services and a new phase of DOU consolidation in Attica and Thessaloniki

The major organizational restructuring of the Independent Public Revenue Authority and its transition to the new operating modelpresented at the beginning of the year by its Governor, Giorgos Pitsilis, continues at a steady pace.

Key elements of the new model are:

1. The establishment of centralized services in Attica and Thessaloniki (Certification and Collection Centers, Capital Tax Centers, Tax Procedures and Service Centers), in which the set of functions is transferred which are currently carried out by the DOU.
2. The evolution of the current DOU Attica and Thessaloniki into new type services, without specific local authority, which will operate as Tax Service Services. Staffed with experienced and specialized staff, in spaces with a modern and ergonomic design, which will offer functional efficiency and spatial flexibility, with a minimal environmental footprint, the new services will focus on welcoming, informing and directly serving taxpayers, who will be guided in the use of digital applications and will facilitate the proper fulfillment of their tax obligations.

The Commander of AADE stated: “Consistent in our commitment to constantly become better for the benefit of citizens and businesses, we are advancing rapidly in the organizational evolution of AADE. Simultaneously with the centralization of our services in Attica and Thessaloniki, we are upgrading the DOUs to Tax Service Services, removing geographical restrictions. We are creating a new service model for citizens and businesses, which reduces bureaucracy and at the same time offers better services to taxpayers.”

For the implementation of this plan, by decision of the Governor of AADE, the following DOUs of Attica and Thessaloniki with adjacent territorial jurisdiction are consolidated, as follows:

The AADE Governor is in contact with the Mayors of Zografou, Egaleo, Psychikos and Kropias, to investigate the possibility of setting up Tax Service Offices in the Municipalities’ facilities.

Furthermore, taking into account the daily cash transactions at the DOU of Attica, after the establishment of the Attica Certification and Collection Center, by Decision of the Governor of AADE, from March 26, 2024, treasury services will be provided for the issuance of a duplicate type A collection document exclusively from the following services:
