UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council have unequivocally condemned the terrorist attack at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow.

In particular, Antonio Guterres “condemns in the most unequivocal manner the terrorist attack” near Moscow and “expresses his condolences to the bereaved families, as well as to the people and government of the Russian Federation,” said Farhan Haq, spokesman for the general secretary of the UN.

At the same time, in a statement issued by the UN Security Council, the members unequivocally condemn “the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack on a concert hall in Krasnogorsk”. The Security Council also expresses its condolences to the relatives of the victims, underlining that “terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, represents one of the most serious threats to international peace and security”, calling for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.

At least 62 people were killed and 146 injured in Friday night’s terror attack at a concert hall in the northwestern suburbs of Moscow, Russian media reported. The jihadist organization Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, via a post on Telegram.
