Ukrainian forces shot down 31 of 34 Russian drones that were launched during the night by the Russian forces, the air force of Kyiv announced today.

Iranian-made drones were shot down over parts of central, southern and southeastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian armed forces said.

Russia: A civilian was killed in an attack in the Belgorod region

At the same time, one civilian died and two were injured in a drone attack in the Russian region of Belgorod, which is located on the border with Ukraine, the regional governor announced.

“The breakfast was difficult,” said Vyacheslav Gladkov in a post on Telegram, noting that two areas of his district were attacked by drones.

“One civilian was killed, two others were injured” in one of these attacks, in the Chernyansky district, he clarified.

According to Gladkov, the eponymous capital of the region was this morning the target of strikes that damaged several residential buildings.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced at the same time that downed over the Belgorod region 11 rockets originating from Ukraine, which were dropped by Vampire rocket launchers.

The Belgorod region has recently been the target of several drone attacks and strikes attributed to Russia in Ukraine that have killed more than 10 people in a week, according to Russian local authorities.

Kiev, which has been facing Russian forces invading its territory for two years, has vowed to bring the fighting to Russian soil in retaliation for multiple shelling of its territory.
