The investigations of the Russian authorities to identify victims of the massacre that occurred on Friday afternoon at the “Crocus” concert venue are continuing.

As the governor of the Moscow region stated, the investigations to locate victims in the wreckage of the hall, will take several days.

“Rescuers are working 24 hours a day at the site (…) Another 20 bodies were found under the debris. The investigations will continue further, at least for a few days.” Governor Andrei Vorobyov wrote on Telegram shortly after the death toll reached 115.

Reuters reports that Russia’s Investigative Committee said some of those killed in the Crocus City Hall attack they died from gunshots while others died in the massive fire that broke out in the compound. Citing Baza, a news agency reported by Reuters as having good contacts with Russian security, the that 28 bodies were found in a toilet and 14 in a staircase. “Many mothers were found hugging their children,” he said.

The Investigative Committee announced earlier today that the perpetrators of the attack used “automatic firearms” and set fire to the building with the help of a “flammable liquid”.

“It has been confirmed that the terrorists used a flammable liquid to set fire to the concert hall where there were spectators”among whom there are wounded, investigators reported on Telegram, adding that they seized “automatic weapons” that were used in the attack.
