The 39-year-old strangled his daughter after an argument they had and then, after wheeling her body out of the apartment, gave $2 to a homeless man to burn her body
A documentary video shows the moment a man pushes the body of his 18-year-old daughter into a pram after allegedly strangling her and paying a homeless man $2 to burn her on a street in southeastern Brazil.
39-year-old Wellington Da Silva was arrested last Wednesday and confessed to murdering his daughter Reysa at his home in Sao Paulo last Sunday, as announced by the Sao Paulo Civil Police.
According to the Daily Mail, a camera installed outside his apartment recorded him struggling with the wheelchair and pushing it into the elevator.
Wellington Da Silva admitted that he and his daughter had been drinking and suddenly started arguing over his breakup with her mother, which happened several months ago. The man said he became enraged because the 18-year-old insisted on supporting her mother and strangled her, State Department Homicide and Personal Protection chief Ivalda Aleixo told Brazilian news agency G1.
At the same time, according to what the police revealed, Wellington Da Silva slept with his daughter’s body inside the house and decided to take it out on Monday night. She then allegedly approached a homeless man and asked him to buy ethanol from a nearby gas station and set her body on fire.
“He told us he paid him $2 to do it,” said a local police spokesman.
Reisa’s mother reported her missing on Monday, and the 18-year-old’s charred body was found Tuesday under a broken section of sidewalk by passers-by.
Authorities have launched a manhunt for the homeless man and are investigating security cameras in the area to confirm Wellington da Silva’s claims. The 18-year-old’s father faces charges of femicide, destruction and concealment of a body.
