In the hands of the police is now the man who is accused of attacked with a knife and killed the 27-year-old in the center of Bradford on Saturday afternoon Kulsama Akter, while she was walking with her few-month-old baby in the stroller.

The arrested person is believed to be 25-year-old graduate student from Bangladesh Habibur Rahman Masum, who is reported to be the father of the infant.

The 25-year-old was arrested in Aylesbury, almost 250 kilometers away from the scene of the crime.

Police have admitted Masoum had been investigated and charged with threatening to kill his eventual victim, but was free on bail.

West Yorkshire Police therefore referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Authority.

A 23-year-old man is also in custody on the charge of assisting the perpetrator.

According to his social media posts, Massum is a postgraduate student in digital advertising at the University of Bedfordshire and shares his UK ‘adventures’ via YouTube videos.
