A father who in October 2017 murdered his five-week-old son, leaving him to die with a broken neck, has been sentenced to life in prison in Britain, in a case that had caused shock and outrage in public opinion.

Martyred at the hands of his dad

Newborn Ollie (centre photo), suffered at the hands of 29-year-old Michael Davies on four nights of savage beating at the family flat in Leicester.

The autopsy showed that little Ollie had a total of 37 fractures to his ribs, skull, collarbone, upper limbs and ligaments in all his limbs.

Four to eight days before his death, the infant had been left helpless with broken neck, which caused brain haemorrhage and crushed his spine.

During the sentencing the judge said that injuries like those of the defenseless infant usually occur after a very serious car accident.

Davis will serve a minimum of 22 years in prison.

In penalty imprisonment seven years old for causing serious bodily harm and for not preventing the murder of a child was convicted mother of the infant, Kaylee Driver, who suffers from a chronic neurological condition that limits her mobility.

Following the couple’s sentencing, the infant’s relatives said in an emotional statement:

“Oli, you came into our world on September 21, 2017. You melted our hearts with those big blue eyes. Our little ray of sunshine.

We are left with a huge void in our hearts. Ollie, life is never the same again.

You will always be with us our sweet boy, until we meet again.

Catch all the love and kisses we send you.

Your loving family, with a broken heart.”
