THE King Charles III, o British monarch as well as her head of state Australiatoday expressed “horror” at the “senseless” knife attack which left at least six people dead at a Sydney shopping centre.

“My wife (Queen Camilla) and I were shocked and appalled to learn of the tragic knife attack” in Sydney, Charles III said, adding that “his thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those brutally killed in this senseless attack”.

At least six people were killed today in a knife attack in a busy shopping center Sydney. Several others were injured, including a nine-month-old infant, according to local emergency services. A man has been killed by police fire and according to first aid services, he appears to be the shooter. Currently the authorities have not ruled out the “terrorist” version of the act.

King Charles III, who is undergoing treatment for cancer diagnosed in January, also praised “the courage of first responders and emergency services”.

THE prince williamson of Charles III and heir to the British throne, and Princess Kate also said they were “shocked and saddened” by the attack, in a message on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

“Our thoughts are with all those affected, especially the families of the victims and the heroic rescuers who risked their lives to save others.”
